Art Patrons for FASHION Magazine

I generally shoot a lot of portraits but this particular job sent me in a slightly different direction with regards to technique. Usually when I'm using supplemental lighting, which isn't that often, I aim for a quality akin to natural window light. For this portrait we needed the light to match the ambient interior lighting of The Vancouver Art Gallery (check out the sweet, sweet molo cloud softlight and softwall). We also had to shoot this in two plates- the subject plate and the background ceiling plate. The two plates were then combined in post production. So tech! All went well though thanks to retouching champions, CAKE Imagery.  It also doesn't hurt to have three beautiful subjects, a great location and a more than helpful assistant. Thanks Nicole, at FASHION Mag, for the call!
